Whats the easiest way to remove the rear view mirror on my 2000 stang? The mirror is broke and I am replacing it with the same one.

i have heard that the only way to remove it is just work up some courage and just give it a real nice tug until it pops off

ive never tried it but like i said, i have heard that is the only way to do it..

I have heard two different stories. One, that there is a set screw that holds it in place. The second, was you needed a flat screw driver, insert it at the bottom and push up the mirror. Wondered if either of these are correct.

it would be better to ask the dealership or consult a manual. i don't know about the 2000 mustang but in other cars some electronics are wired in the rear view mirror, which could be damaged by the improper removal of the mirror.

I got it changed yesterday. Just slide a flat screwdriver in between the mirror and mounting bracket. Pull up and use the screwdriver to pry the mirror loose so it will slide off. Took about 30 seconds total to replace the mirror.
