2003 GT Exhaust Options

First time post... I've got an 03 GT, bone stock. I want to upgrade my mufflers and add an air intake. For the mufflers, I'm looking for the loudest sound possible. Some friends are recomending a set of 2 chamber Flowmasters, part: 953048. Is this a good sound? How much of an improvement over the stock sound will it be? I've listened to a few audio clips from "mustangexhaust", but its so hard to tell.

Thoughts?

Din

loudest? definitely not Flowmasters. They have a deep rumble but not the loudest. Look into spintechs, magnaflow magnapacks, dynomax race bullets, SLP Loudmouth. All of those are pretty loud, but if you are changing out the mufflers, swap out the stock midpipe too, and possibly the headers. It costs money, but why not do it all at once?

But beware that just because it's loud doesn't mean it sounds good. IMO SLP LM 1 are the loudest you can get, especially with a O/R X pipe, but they sound crappy at high RPMs. I'd look into SLP LM 2. Magnapacks are loud at WOT, but a bit quieter at idle. An O/R X pipe will make whatever system you pick much louder. L/T headers will make it even louder.

SLP LM 1 w/stock mid pipe

SLP LM 2 w/ stock mid pipe

Magnapacks w/stock mid pipe (I think)
