must be referring to magnaPACKS

I had magnaflows... took them off and put back flowmasters... magnaflows aren't much louder than stock. They perform good though.

I'm not sure if they were packs or not.....I was trying to look underneath and see if i could see the mufflers....but i couldn't.....I've heard your car will sound better with an x-pipe.....but when i was getting my flows weldin the guy told me there was no difference between the x and the h pipes..

depends. generally h-pipes are alittle deeper and x-pipes are alittle louder. It depends on the muffler really though. Flows and other chambered mufflers are better off with h-pipes... straight through stuff like magnaflows / packs are better off with x's

why is an x pipe better with magnaflow types? only asking becasue i was thinking about pulling 2 cats and going with 2 cats/hpipe for my exhaust (to go with my magnaflows that are already in the car)

it doesnt make a difference on a v6 art. the firing order doesnt make a difference in H over X. H pipes are easier to fabricate though, so that is what most shops would recommend

The X is always going to be a but louder than an H. The design being less restrictive allows for more flow, and therfore more energy transfer. The typical harmonic resonance that is created by cat-backs using H-pipes is also attenuated more with an X.

I installed my MagnaPack Cat-Back using the stock H (due to time constaints) and ran that way for about a week (T-F). At 65-80 mph the drone in the car was horrible. After I put the MagnaFlow X w/cats on, that drone was gone, or at least moved to a frequency that I can't hear. But, the exhaust sound level was up significantly!

With all of that out, the "noise" level is not so loud that my wife complains. In fact, she drives the car as her daily driver.

'03 GT Vert (Cobra Clone)
ProCharger Stage2-P1SC, MagnaFlow X/MagnaPack, Accufab, DaibloSport (cause I didn't like the SCT), Eibach, FMS, Baer, and more!

Just bought an '07 GT and put Magnaflows on. Really cannot tell a difference from the stock mufflers. Pretty new to this and have read some on this site about the difference between Magnaflows vs. Magnapack. I've heard some sound clips and the one I like best has a offroad H-pipe. Can I add an O/R H-pipe to my Magnaflows or would I have to switch to the Magnapack? Any other changes necessary? FYI- the muffler shop will do the labor - I'm just trying to find out what to ask for. . .Thanks in advance!
