2003 Mach1 exhaust questions & opinions

I recently had my exhaust done, and wow does it sound great. Put on BBk Long Tube headers, BBk 02 Sensor Extension, BBk X-pipe without Cat Convertors, Borla Exhaust System. Also had the headers wrapped.
In my opinion it made it sound like a drag car. Just f-ing nasty.
My question is that, I got the car back and again it sounds fantastic. But there was a couple of problems, for starters I can here alot of noise from the engine, kind of sounds like the cams to me or tapping sound, maybe not sealed up tight enough. The person that installed them said that they were exstremely tight and he squished the dip stick, (after I asked him about it of course) so much that, it would not pull out. I also heard that a frequintly made mistake is that some cars need 2 gastkets on the car to prevent that loud noise from the engine? 2nd the check engine light has came on, only thing I can think of is that it's throwing off the sensors, or maybe because it's alot more air-flow don't know? 3rd was I'm having some back fire, but a couple of people told me that it is kind of normal for about a week or so then it will go away. Don't know how true that is, sounds like b.s. If anyone has came across these problems before or has any advise please let me know. Also just if you would like to know the I gained 49hp and 44lb torque. Was dyno tested I only have to other mods and that was a shorty shifter and K&N air intake.

I am going through the same exact thing man. My long tubes and off road h pipe and flowmasters have been on for a little over a week. here is why they are leaking man... The new headers are shrinking and expanding as the new heat is going through them. You have to keep tightening them every day for about a week or two...Well, mine still havent tightened up so i was told to order some Stage8 locking header bolts through summit and all of my leaks would be gone. They are in the mail now and should be here tomorrow. I will let you know how they go when i get them on....But i was told no more leaks ever with these Stage 8 locking header bolts....

Mine hasnt triggered the CEL, check your O2 sensors. I didnt use the extensions. just kinda rerouted mine....Maybe you have them wired wrong or something or maybe just need new ones....

Mine does backfire a bit. Still dont know why really. Maybe it is as you were told. maybe it will go away soon...

man i know how frustrating leaks are...I spent hours re tightening these damn header bolts and they are still leaking....Summit has those stage8s for about $44, i was told it would make me the happiest person in the world. NO LEAKS, so i bought them. I have heard nothing wrong with them at all....But if you want, just keep tightening the bolts until they finally hold in a few weeks....I just cannot do that everyday and drive with the tititititititititititititititititititititititi sound all the damn time. good luck....
