Need advise on exhaust for '07 GT - new to all this. . .

Just bought a brand new 2007 Mustang GT about a month ago:
V8, 4.6L - 100% stock except for the following. . .and right now it has 1100 miles on it.

A couple weeks ago I took it to the muffler shop and put Magnaflow mufflers on it - this is all. No other work was done except he cut the stock mufflers off and put the Magnaflows on - I watched the whole thing. The guy at the shop told me it would sound just like stock exhaust but about 30% louder - it does everything he said it would but its simply not good enough. I am VERY disappointed because I cannot tell any difference from the way it sounded with the stock mufflers. Right now I feel ike I wasted $350. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of the stock exhaust system as well as the way it sounds now (if I could hear it), but the whole point of aftermarket exhaust is to HEAR the engine. My dad was driving behind me with his windows down this morning and I took off from a red light pouring the coals to it and later he says he could not tell I was even getting on it. I've listened while he drives, and its true.

Here's what I am looking for. . .the stock sound of a Mustang GT about 5 times louder and throatier with alot more grumble. I want to be heard but I like the expensive, high-performance sound. I'd like to be quiet at idle, but when I hit the gas I want paint to peel off people's cars! What I don't want to sound like is one of these kids with a cheap sounding 6" exhaust pipe sticking out the back of an automatic Honda Civic.

Most importantly, I do not want to do anything to jeopardize the Ford warranty. The good thing is any work the muffler shop I visited is backed by the Ford warranty.

Please make your suggestions and give me an idea what I should expect to pay, including parts and labor to install.

i would first change your mid pipe, i've never had an off road h pipe so i can sugest the x w/cats (bassani x w/the steel cats). now if you dont like how loud it is after that, you need to sell those mufflers on ebay and get different ones. the mufflers are what you like and it sounds like you like the chambered mufflers and so do i, so i would go w/the loudest of the chambered; mac mufflers. but first go w/the mid pipe, good luck
