if i did buy it used is there anything in the t-lok that i should worry about being worn or damaged that they might not know about. I don't realy know how a t-lok works other than it allows both wheels to spin.

You can rebuild the clutches in the Ford Tloc for about 50 dollars. You also need to look at the side gears to make sure they are not chipped or overly worn .

I'd buy new and know it's in perfect running order. Plus there's somthing wrong w/ that picture, I don't see a 4:10 w/ that T-LOCK..

hey man always buy new on everything unless you know the exact history of it. its better to pay a little more than pay less and kill it and then have to go the right way.

I will definetly buy a new set. I never thought about the condition of the clutch. If I buy a new set how much should i expect to pay and should i buy a rebuild kit since i will have the differential apart. I have a manual transmission so would a xcal still adjust the speedo. And how long do think it would take to install. thanks for all the help so far

buying new, you can find the ford t lok for about $150 on ebay and the gears for $100 and then you will need an installation kit with the friction modifier, shims, etc. or you will have to pay a shop about $60 more. i got my stuff from driveline specialists on ebay. they have a 99.8% + feedback, very helpful tech crew, and extremely fast shipping. they have complete kits advertised at 379.99, but you can talk them down a tad

Used is ok as long as you can look at it in person and know what you are looking at. I wouldn't by rear end parts used on the internet.
