Ford Racing C springs???
I have been pondering this question for awhile now. These Ford Racing coils springs that they sell that are so cheap(usually $130.-$160.) are they worth going to for a suspension upgrade? I know they are not progressive rate like Eibach Pro kit I am so in love with but does anybody have any experience with this type of spring upgrade? Pros or cons??? Every time I plan my suspension upgrade and add everything up these springs keep looking enticing with $100+/- difference compared to say the Eibach kits. Any thoughts, guys???

I have FRPP C Springs on ym car. the ride height is much better, and the cornering is more responsive. I do not have numbers to tell you a difference or not between stock springs and C springs, but I recommend them

Thanks bro! By the way congrat.s on the the Featured Car spot. I see why you got it. Yeah, I was hoping they would be fairly decent with ride quality but really I'm mainly concerned about them holding up good to my horsepower setup. You think they ride pretty comfy? I mean, can you stand the difference in ride quality???

The ride quality seems the same. The ride height looks much better and is lowered about 1.25-1.5" and there is no need for caster camber plates with this mild a drop. Anything more, and you will need c/c plates for better alignment

They're a good kit, but I think a stang could go lower than what the C-Spring can provide..

springs
I like the c springs on an older fox but ham settling for b on the 94 gt as the wife has to ride in the car too. She didn't like the firmness of the c but I did.

Their is 2 differant ford C springs. The normal ones. And the SUPER SPORTS. A bullitt or mach 1 comes stock with the ford racing SS c springs. the yare 600 inch pounds front and progressive rear of 300-350 inch pounds.
i thnk the ss springs are to ruff of a ride. I went with stock gt springs and cut them. Car looked good. and drove the best it ever did.

Had to wake this old thread up.
I am going to lower my 2002 GT as soon as I can find the set of springs I want. I was considering the 5300-B springs for the softer ride, but after reading this thread I believe I want the 5300-C springs. If they were stock on the bullitt then its definintely what I want. However, with the research I have been doing I cannot find 2 different "C" class springs by Ford Racing. I have been on their website and it only lists one 5300-C set of springs. Is it possible there are NOT 2 different sets of 5300-C springs? Also, will I need new shocks? How different is the Bullitt suspension from the GT? |
