losing power


i have an 88 5.0 GT and i am losing power somewhare but cant pin point where and i really didnt want to take it to the dealership just yet maybe somebody has the same problem i have the battery is brand new and as is the alternator but it seems as if the alternator can not keep up with the power going out. when i start the car it runs fine at about 14 volts then after about a half hour of driving the power will drop to 12 volts but bounce around. could ne one help me out?? plz

do you happen to have underdrive pulleys installed?
