79-93 uses 4x4 1/4 factory bolt pattern. With a 15x8 wheel you will need a 5.5 backspace.

94 and up uses 5x4 1/2 factory bolt pattern. With a 15x8 wheel you will need a 5.5 backspace.

on my 2000 i used a 5.5 backspacing with my 15x8's and it wasn't enough. i ended up having to grind down my calipers. i think some 00 use the 6.5 and some use the 5.5... i've seen both...

We've had to grind calipers on 94 and 95 Cobras too but it didn't have anything to do with back space, it was due to the size of the brakes themselves which are not designed to be used with a wheel smaller than 16".
