Seatbelt Problems

Hey Everyone.
Whenever I get into my mustang and turn on the car and buckle in i notice no matter how hard/fast i pull on the seatbelt it does not lock up.
I Was wondering if anyone else had any similar issues with this.
Could this be related with the Electronic Unit where the seatbelt goes inside the seatbelt clip?
thank you

I don't know what year car you have, I can only speak for the New Edge seatbelts. There is nothing electronic in how they work. There is a ball inside them that needs to be in a certain location to allow the seatbelt to be pulled out. When you take a corner or brake suddenly, the ball moves and keeps the seatbelt from being pulled out. I know b/c I took mine apart when they wouldn't retract anymore.

Its an 87 mustang.
2.3 Liter 2 Door Coupe
The Other Day When i took apart the panel it reveled the mechanism
And found out the Door Jam Switch is mechanical
Some sort of release Cable To The Mechanism
But Couldnt Seem To Figure Out Why The Seatbelt Wont Lock Up When Pulled Hard.

There is a slide in there that get triggered when the brakes are applied. My guess is this sliding mechanism is hammed and Could probably be fixed if you take the cover off lube the tracks and work it free.
