$650 for exhaust?

So I went to this performance auto shop to see what it would cost me to get my dual exhaust. This is the second place i've been to. The first place offered me to do it for $850. Now this new place offered me $650 for an x pipe and flowmaster 40's...that price includes tax, install, shipping and product.

Now that makes me wonder, because all over the forums, everyone said they got their exhaust for 350 to 500.

Am I getting ripped off?

well if the parts are new i would say it's not too bad of a price installed.

a good catback runs like 3-400 and an x pipe anywhere from 150-300

I would go for an h-pipe. It will sound better, and there is no difference in gains between the x or the h

the 350-500 range is probably from people that installed themselves...

^ i agree, the $350-$500 is the people who installed it themselves. $650 is about right installed by a shop. i was quoted $650 for dual magnaflow and installation at a performance shop. but im going to save the extra 150 and install it myself, its much more fun and satisfying knowing you did it yourself.

dual exhaust for 400 installed? what brand did you get?

edit* so you just bought the mufflers and the pipe was yours? then you had it all installed?

It is the x-pipe that is getting expensive for you.

I have a custom job from a muffler shop with a custom h-pipe and it ran 375. If your getting all the parts they are ordering an x-pipe and a cat back which gets expensive.

950 will get you long tubes, off road H pipe, cat back, and all electrical. 650 for mid pipe and cat back new and installed (bolt on) is descent, but if it is fabbed shit on crush bends and aluminum, go elsewhere.

you want stainless steel mandrel bends at 2.5"
