Boost Question

Im looking into a '00 Cobra and I want to supercharge it.
I want to know what the best complete supercharger setup would be and how much boost can i run safely on a stock motor?
At what point or relative point would i need to beef up the internals on the motor to protect it?

If someone could point me in the right direction of adding some decent power on top of S/C it would be greatly appreciated.

If I remember correctly, the '00 Cobra R 5.4L had forged internals. A forged steel crank, billet steel Carrillo connecting rods, and forged aluminum flattop pistons.

At the very least I would think it could support a ported and modified Lightning Eaton blower running 10 or 12 pounds of boost. Even though it has a "power dome" hood, not sure if a blower would fit under it, might have to get creative there. I'm sure there's probably a Whipple blower, like the GT500 uses that would work real nice too!

I'm also not sure why you want to do this to a Cobra R, since it would probably hurt it's value, compared to an unmolested copy, but hey, I'm a good one to talk about that! LOL!
