Side Exhaust

I just bought a 1999 V6 Mustang and would like to get my exhaust done... Ive always been a fan of the side exhaust, any reason I shouldn't? And if not, what do you suggest for a brand?

haha don;t lower your car if you do. and um just watch out for speed bumps if you get it. recommendations were spine tech and bassani i think? but i ended up getting roush pipes with magna flow muffs

How does it sound? I know much better than the V6 stock, but better than a rear exhaust?

its gonna give off more of a aggressive look and if a car is next to you and you rev they will feel it so it will be more intimidating.. only down sides are backpressure and ground clearance

not really, im just trying to go for uniqueness, maybe not a 327, but more likely a 302 small block, idk... then what would you suggest to mod a V6?

the whole motor swap is alot of work and will take more then a summers amount of work to get everything in and paid for. unless your starting rich alrdy, just murphy's law.. something will go wrong and you'll be paying more then you think.

just look on the forum and maybe you'll end up just stroking your motor to a 4.2L or a s/c or a turbo.. who knows but theres a bunch of threads(posts) about what you can do to your v6 to make it faster. got any questions about the mods .. start a new thread

351 will be the easiest swap to do.
As for the side exhaust spin tech or ford racing makes one.

Ford racing
http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/m...egory_Code=38L

and CDC
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...0%201&comp=LRS

watch for ground clearance side exhaust is notorious for getting ripped out.

It can get expensive and if your unlucky you can bend the rear axle. That happened to my friends v6 roush. Usually it will just bend the exhaust piping or pull off the muffler which isn't a good thing but much better than bending an axle. I would personally get rear exit you get better power and it is a lot less of a hassle, and usually cheaper.

I have true duals with a crossover pipe and flowmaster super 40's mufflers. I love it. It is a custom setup from an exhaust and I paid 375 for everything. Just go to a muffler shop and tell them you want true duals with a crossover pipe and whatever mufflers you prefer (or just go with what the shop carries) I personally like flowmasters the best.

Now don't let me scare you if you really do want side exhaust it isn't going to rip out like everyday but it is a very likely possibility
