Key lock on the freaking lug nuts

I do not have the lock for the lug nuts. I heard there is a universal key, but also understand it is several hundred dollars. I tried to get a pair of vice grips on it last night LOL That was a joke......

I even constipated :-) about using a grinder and cutting the $#%ing thing off. I just kind of like the telephone dial rims :-)

any ideas folks?

Thanks,

Robert

Most tire shops carry a socket tool that will cut into the wheel locks for grip and take them off. You'll probably need to replace them afterwards but at least you got them off.

If a tire shop has the good tool set designed for this they should be able to save the wheel locks but what good are they if you don't have a key......

I drilled them out, broke off the drill bit. used the socket trick with a breaker bar, that did the trick

I e-mailed the previous owner.....................

Found out the freaking key was in the ash tray

I LOVE IT :-)

Don't know why you folks haven't thought of the OBVIOUS (?)...

You seemingly have gone to a LOT of trouble, AND have possibly "botched" up what is currently on the car.

Solution?...

The Ford d'ship can find the right key and if it's not in stock will order you one for just $15 at best! If you've got the lock number (with the lug wrench in the trunk), it will save them trying to find the right number, but either way it will cost you no more!

Sooooooooo...$15 and NO damage, or drill 'em out? It's a no brainer!
