All right I don't feel like running through bolt ons and what not when I have the money for nitrous.

http://rpmoutlet.com/musv6msdwire.htm

This with a dyno tune am I safe?

I need an honest answer because unlike most people I don't just want to know. I'm ganna go ahead and do this.

Yes, I would use about a 75-125 shot. Now with a 125 shot your gonna need to retard the timing about 5 degrees or so. Something the tuner can do. The problem with nitrous is people usually don't tune it, or get a really crappy tune, and then put bigger jets than what they are tuned for.

Well I'm taking this route as safe as possible for starters. As you could tell from my trans post. I'm replacing a few things and what not... and I'm going to get my trans service and what not. I have a minor kicking with my t-lok that needs to get fixed as well.

I'd hate to loose a trans to nitrous so I want to be safe about this. Can you purchase a tune for this kind of setup or will a dyno tune be best?

Right now All I could probably afford would be to buy the kit and I would have to wait around on a proper tune, because of funds. Thank God I have a tuner all ready though.

You could prob buy a tune, but getting a dyno tune will be most helpful because of the a/f readings you get.

I'm hoping a dyno tune won't run me back to much because if I bought the kit this month, it wouldn't see the light of day for another 2 months. My dad was quoted around 500 dollars for a dyno tune on his gt if he purchased a novi.

Run a 100 shot and dyno tune it and you will be fine. Cricket is right on the money.

So do I get any money for being right on the money? I think I should. Or we could all just pitch into the "J.P. needs a lot money to work on his car, and make it fast fund."

Hey flattus just curious. What kind of nitrous setup you looking at?

Stock internals & street - I wouldn't do anything more than a 75shot PERIOD

Maybe run a 100shot at the track once a month ....

Although I have never had a nitrous system, I am researching them and i.m.o. i think the ZEX looks the best, although it is a little more pricey than NX or other brands.

I've been getting quotes on dyno tunes, and they have been telling me 550-650 bones, so yes it is going to be expensive. I wouldn't suggest tuning it yourself with the nitrous, because one wrong move and you will be broke for a while!!

If he has the tuner already all he has to do is email his stock tune to a tuner dealer with a list of what he's running. They'll write a tune for him.

I'm not sure what kind of tuner you've already got, but if you check with VMP he can make you a flash tune and you only have to pay for dyno time and his hourly rate for a new flash on an old chip. I think a 100 shot would be safe if you don't plan on using it every day. I've had my system tuned for almost 2 month now and I haven't even used 2 full bottles yet. It's hard to run out of nitrous when there's no where on the streets to open her up at all.

Also, get with crazylegs, he'll hook you up with a great kit and everything you'll need to keep it safe. If you have any questions on how-to just give me a call. I'll help you with whatever I can...

nx is the best, zex makes a decent kit and is good for starters. your best bet is to do it on a dyno. people say you can gt a mail order tune but that isnt the safest route. it will probably work okay but a dyno tune will get you more power and be a lot more safe. people dont realise that a MAIL ORDER TUNE IS JUST A CRUTCH TO GET A REAL DYNO TUNE. all cars react just a little differently to the same mods. so yours might be the one that the a/f goes all ape shit and your break a piston. the dyno tune will set you back a little more than a mail rder tune but its a helluva lot cheaper than having to have yours rebuilt or having to buy a new tune.

you should also look into getting an msd window switch which will allow you to run the nitrou from certain rpms. you dont want to engage the nitrous before the air really gets moving cuz it could pool up in the intake and blow the piss out of it. anyways lookinto a fuel pressure safety switch if you go with a wet system and also a wide open throttle switch so you dont accidently spray the nitrou before your ready which ciould cause a major problem

+1!

Also with a window switch you can not only choose what RPM it engages, but also what gear. If I end up getting nitrous, I am going to set it up to spray in second gear, seeing it would be a waster for first since I can't catch traction anyway.

Let me know how you like it!

Well first of all Mustang intakes are not designed to flow fuel. Only air. So with that in mind I would not run a wet kit in that car. Dry kits are much safer for what you are lookin for..

common mistake

wet nitrous is much more safe, because it is very easy to tune.

However your mistaken in thinking that nitrous is the safe cheap and easy way to make power. A decent system is going to cost 1000, most likely 1500 with the all the parts the tune. Also no Power adder is safe, especially nitrous... heres the rule of thumb if you cant afford to fix it - you cant afford to blow it up. Also n20 is about 50 bucks a fill, and it adds up quick.... and doesnt last long.

but now we wait and see....
