Looking into Dual exaust for 07 v6,single stock?
Hey everyone... Few questions... I just got myself a 2007 V6 mustang with a single stock exaust, so it doesnt have a cutout for a 2nd.... I'm looking at borla (which i havnt done my H.W on exausts much yet... ive just heard their name/magnaflow alot) and it all sounds good on there site warrantys ect. Would anyone recomend one?
Could a dual work on my mustang? Because thats ultimately what i want, is a dual exaust, more HP, better sound ect. Last Q is, i was reading one of the stickys, and it said #1, get your gears.. Now i havnt done any H.W or knowledge of that yet, anyone wanna point me in the right direction or lay somthing out? Because i would like to follow that guide seems pretty good. How much MPG HWY/city do you lose though is it significant? Link: to single/double: http://www.borla.com/products/cat-ba...|7|8003|15|7|3 Thanks! As for the order of things to do, it depends on what you want to do first and also you have to factor in what your goals are. If you just want to go for better sound and better mpg, you could do the exhaust and get a cold air intake, the cold air intake will help your mpg, not a ton but it will help. I think 07 is one of those years where you will need a tuner though I am not sure on this. With the gears people with stick shifts go with 3.73's and people with autos generally go with 4.10's. 4.10's will lower your top speed but help your acceleration a lot. They will wake your pony right up, but again thats one of those mods you need a tuner for, and about 95% of this community goes with a SCT handheld tuner which can be purchased at americanmuscle.com. they offer a bundle that includes a cold air intake and a tuner for a pretty decent price. And if you buy your tuner through them you get free tunes for life, so if you get a new mod and need a new tune you will get it for free! Except for nitrous, turbo, or a super charger.Oh yea I forgot to add, with a dual exhaust you wont really see any gains in hp at all, it will just make things flow better. But just let us know what your short and long term goals with this car are and we will assist you further ![]() Lastly Welcome to MM

thanks for the reply =D
First and for most is putting my subs into it/headunit. Waiting on crutchfield currently to get my new faceplates/adapters, and trying to figure out how to wire it through the mustang properly.. Next small goal/short is a tint (rears solid black.... but of course able to see out )Also wanna replace gas casket with a chrome peace *if thats doable?* Last small term /just a maybe here, would be adding on two small lights to the front, the fog ones, not sure where to purchase them. As im doing those two above, I'll be saving some $$ for first, an exaust, then after followed closely by some CAI. Not sure what the term "tuner" stands for, feelin a little noobish now hehe. Overall for the exaust which im sure you hear this all the time, i want it sounding mean but if i were to get pulled over its not "illegal". Are there still loud ones out there that can accomplish that.. I guess im willing to risk it to but i dont need anything ridiculous. If there is no difference except for more flow, then single is fine. I also wanted double for the looks as well as sound. From there then the CAI which i know nothing on, same pretty much goes for exaust. Just been watching a few clips on borla, which sound amazing, and a few on the magnaflow, which to me sounds similiar to my stock when i give it a lil "kick". medium term goal would be the gears, since i dont understand that at all... But i like the sound of getting off quicker, but mostly im wanting my sound first. As for top speed im fine with that going down a lil, not like ill be flying down the freeway at 120. So thats kinda short/medium, until i understand it better. Also I'd probably do these installs with m ybuddy at a local ford so i dont void the 100k warranty. Long term: Probably those chips ive heard of not so often but can add up to 40 hp or somthing? Sounds to good to be true but i hear it works magic. So tops = sound. if i moved to the 4.10 would my MPG lower though? not that I'll be punching it any harder but just by doing that does it mess much with it? I'm automatic stang here also. Thanks again for this help! |
