What RWHP Is Fast

Wanted some opinions on what you guys think is a fast rwhp for a street driven car?? Not talking about car that you drive around the block or down to the corner store...one that will drive for a couple hours with no problembs.

I'm at 380-390ish and it scares the shit out of me sometimes...but I still want more.

I would be happy to get to 300. But the only car with a decent amount of power that I have driven was my dads truck. It's 400 something at the crank from the factory. I drove it when I had my learners lisence and if you gave it just a little to much gas the tires broke loose.

Anything over 300rwhp is considered a fast car when you are comparing the car against non modded cars.

500 rwhp is kinda the benchmark that I look at, between quick street car and all out fast street car.

I drive my car all over the place and I'm at like 480

90RWHP can be fast. 400RWHP can be slow. We got to talk gearing and power to weight ratio.

thats the key right there. a 900 rwhp car that weights a ton and is geared for top speed is gonna get stomped in a drag race with a 400 rwhp car thats lighter and geared more for drags

I daily drive my car and I'm @ about 500rwhp....I'd say that's as high as I'd want for a daily driver. Maybe 600rwhp...Reliability wise depends on how you're driving it.

depends on the car, i've driven my dads 700hp viper and it blows me away that you can drive it like a normal car at low rpms, but when you punch it, holy shit.

Agree. A month ago I went from 266/271 to 356/371 when I added a Vortech S trim. It still doesn't scare the shit out of me and I need more. Will be dropping to a 3.1 pulley and intercooler in the near future to get it up to 400rwhp.

as far as fast, id say a mid 10sec street car. Ive seen 1k hp cars run a 12, that does not make them fast.

When I'm home I like to drive my dad's 99 Cobra, and to me that is fast as hell. It gets you going immediately. But that IRS and stiff suspension could become a little rough of DD'ing.

while our car is not D/D I do drive it well over 100 miles a night on the weekend just cruising. I don't have a clue what RWHP it makes but it makes a few 3200# and runs 10.30 so far with only a 1.70 60ft and has been over 135 in the 1/4 so like I said it makes a few. Yes it can scare the SH!T out of you if you are not ready for it when it comes on boost it can and will light the tires and/or change lanes on the street. I have taken more then one man for a ride that don't talk when they come back !!! ROFLMAO they just say well I think its time to go and move to there car and leave LOL.. I don't even get on it with street tires as it will light them at 70mph without issues at all so most of the time I run D/R. Do I want more sure I am looking for low 9s high 8s with the other car and still be a street car. But there is a time for it and a place. good thing I live in the sticks...

I have 400rwhp in my 00 gt and 3.73's with a 3650. ive put 110 on the speedo at the redline of 3rd. If your wanting top end power (top speed) youll want to focus on gaining of horsepower, if you want that off the line, break your neck feeling that i like youll want to focus on your torque. I am the pull you down in the seat feeling type of guy so i search for ways to pull more tq out of my car. TQ is why the diesels can run such good numbers at the strips.

400 is a solid number in my eyes. plenty enough to toast just about anything on the road, scare the shit out of you, and anyone you have riding with ya

For 400hp it feels fantastic. ill be doing to a pulley swap here shortly. going from a 3.60 to a 3.48 hopefuly ill pick up 2 psi. that really all i want. After that ill be saving for intercooler and piping.
