Engine removal AC compresor evap/ dryer what to do?
OK Guys,
Getting ready to pull the 5.0 beast out of it's comfy home inside the car, to move it to another car. What do I need to unhook on the air conditioner? I believe the other car had A/C, the compressor is still there. Do I just start unhooking and then get a A/C guy to vaccum the system, and install freon, or is there a way to remove it without breaking the seal on the A/C Thanks, Robert |

You don't have to unhook the A/C, you can leave it in and move it out of the way to pull the engine. If you do decide to remove it for whatever reason, your supposed to vacuum the R12 out.

it needs to be evacuated from the system. Since you're switching from a 4banger to a V8, the compressor and lines are gonna be different.
