Kenne Bell ???

Im lookin to get a Supercharger for my 03 4.6 2v soon. I would like to get the KB blower with front mounted intercooler and run around 9-10psi. This will be going on a dailydriver. i would like to try to get into the high 10's. My Current mods are Mac long tubes, Mac off road prochamber, borla stingers, mac CAI, accufab 70mm throttle and plenum, port/polished heads. So what are you opinions? If i slap the KB on my car with the current mods will i achive 10's. Also will i have to change my steeda underdrive pullies? Thanks jeremy

Probably not at that boost, a street legal 10 sec car is hard to get.

well they dont have a front mounted intercooler on kb blowers. your prolly not gonna get into the 10s on a stock motor. yur gonna need a whole lot fo susopension work to even get it into the middle 11s. your gonna need to be a good driver also. stock motor will only hold around 400-450 rwhp before you start breaking stuff. a tune is a must have and your gonna need to keep the rpms limited to around 5800 rpms.

you will have to change from the smaller pullies

dont worry about your time, it'll be fast enough for a daily driver. you will beat mostly everything you encounter on the street

from what I just read you need to figure out what it takes to run 10's - a 10 sec on the street is too much for most people... not saying you cant handle it - but the fact is that a 10 sec on the street = trouble in a lot of ways, also if you go KB you better get a 2.2, or 2.8 if you want to hit 10's w/o spray... but basically your lookin at 20k or so in mods to hit 10's, shoot for high 11's with a decent suspension - a 11 sec car is a fast car, and you will run the street 99.8% of the time

10's you will have to produce roughly 500-525 RWHP with the suspension available to connect it to the track. In this day and age 10's are very streetable, I have never driven slower than a 10.56 Fox. They can be cumbersome but can be done. Hell look at Darrell, that guy is a trooper, 9.36 with parachute and license plates...that's what i'm talking about.

My parachute comes off in a matter of minutes (like 3 minutes to be exact). As a matter of fact I rarely have the parachute on because I spend more time driving the car than racing it. I can drive my car pretty much anywhere.

Suspension is gonna make the most of your car. To hit a fast ET, you need a very good set-up. Not just power.

Basicaly, what drgnracin72,matrix and Neckbone said, I agree totally. Add to it a suspension, and bam! Good luck with your car man. We're here if ya need us.

Suspension, suspension, suspension... I firmly believe that that is where truly fast ET's lie

thats the most true comment yet, hell a stock 2v motored car can hit high 12's with an ungodly suspension, but again we come to the question... do you really want a 10 sec car? They both are gonna cost, to hit even 11's with a stock motor FI 2v, your almost certainly going to have to run a suspension ( or atleast adjust it a good deal from what most people would feel comfortable driving on the streets.

Most ppl think a fast (12's or quicker) street car would be cool.
Don't get me wrong, it would be, but damn... The suspension is not gonna be all that great for your average road.
It can be done. I know that there are a few on here and theres tons of other double duty cars out there, but most of those folks have serious jack and have all the nifty gizmos that enable it to work properly on the street and track. For the rest of us, we make a sacrifice.

Speed or comfort.

Ultimatly, how much are you willing to trade to say you have a 10sec street car?

Disclaimer: I am not by any stretch doubting that it can be done. I am not calling anyone out or pointing fingers or claiming that those that do have the 10sec cars are loaded.

10s are poretty streetable nowa days. its not hard or really that expensive to make a 10 second car. now you can make a 9 sec car streetable also, but its gonna take a lot more money.

all it takes to get into the 10s in your stang is 450 rwhp and a good drag suspension.

my car is primarily a street car/drag car. i drive it all the time and knock down over 20 mpg. its not the most comfortable car ot drive but its okay. i wouldnt want to drive it across country. it irdes about the same as my 20006 2500hd chevy truck. pretty bad, it doesnt handle well either. but we didnt build it to be a auto x car, its built to go fast in a straight line. the first time you pull your front tires off the groiund and youll forget about the ride comfort

+E=MC2. It all depends on ones level of comfort. I have a DD, but the cars have never had Air conditioning, usually don't corner worth a damn, generally only run good in a straight line and pass everything except gas stations. So to me, driving in 100+ degree temps. and 90% humidity for a while to visit with freinds or run to the track is worth it. I know it is not the norm, but I have never been accused of normalcy. Now the goal is streetable 9 second. Not a Daily driver.....but streetabl as in....being able to drive on the street. Willing is a whole different issue. Great post Drgnracin72
