I found an SVO sitting in the weeds at someones house.

I do not know how long it has been there but it is complete and solid looking aside from being sun baked. It looks to have been sitting at least five years so I doubt it is running.

How much do you guys think I should make an offer for to try and buy it? I'm not fully up to date on the value of SVO's.

I'm going to make a visit to the guy tomorrow and see if he is interested in selling it. Maybe he thinks it is just a lowly 4 banger and nothing special?

If I buy the car my '70 Chevelle build just may go on hold for a little while.

pics of svo and chevelle!!!

I would pick it up for a good price. They are getting pretty rare. I think it would be a fun piece.

I'll take some pics tomorrow. I checked it out the other day but peaced because nobody was home and I'm not much of a snooper.

Here is my street/strip project car. '70 Chevelle Malibu-Frame off resto-275DR's-4 bolt 454-Muncie M21. I have no current pics of it all apart, this is the way I bought it from the original owner. I could start a build thread somewhere on this site if people wanted though?

hell, offer them $500. worst they can do is say no and you haggle. it probably isn't running and will likely need new rings at minimum if it's sat for 5 years, not to add in the other stuff like tires, battery, etc...

I say post a build thread in "other automobiles" or something like that. I for one would be interested. I have had a couple of Chevelles myself and I would appreciate it. I hope to get another one later down the road. I have a 66 pontiac lemans now that I intend on keeping. I would like to acquire a few other cars too (55 ford f100 with GT500 running gear and a 55 chevy) I don't know how it is going to pan out. I am hoping to not own anything newer than my 88 LX for me to drive. My wife will have a nice car and I'd like to build her something old too since she is a car person and appreciative of my hobby.

Oh and add to that list something like a 32 - ish highboy (rat rod style or done up)

Put it here: http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...ther-vehicles/
