Does this sound like a 255 or a 302?
Were all 302 built in 1980 actually 255's? I bought a 1966 Coupe with what appears to be a 1980 302. I can't tell if the motor is actually a 255 because it has an aftermarket Edelbrock Pro Flo EFI intake, and I haven't taken the Heads off to Measure. I think the 255's put out crap for HP. The car was Dynoed and shows 185 HP and 223 ft-lbs, both to the rear wheels. The car is said to have a high lift cam (Don't Know the Numbers), and stock heads. Besides Exhaust and MSD ignition, does this sound like 255 numbers or just a mild 302?
Thanks |
