Supercharger?

Say if I bought this supercharger

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=9765

or one of the vortech trims that produces like 426 I cant remember which, but
anyway. Would the engine be able to handle it or will i have to forge my internals?

Note: I'm taking about putting that on a newer mustang and its not for me = P

For that price I would look into a KB

Yes, you need to forge the internals.

Roughly how much would it cost to buy everything? I don't need to pay for install I'll just bring it into my class to work on.

OK, doesn't that mean he should forge the internals?

he does not have to. 400rwhp is a good spot to stop on the 2v cars but you are on borrowed time. 500rwhp on the 05+ cars are the same way.

400 rwhp is suposed to be pretty safe on a 2v for a good long while with a conservative tune... you need an intercooler of course

ok so it's decided with the Kenne bell supercharger that I need a intercooler which I would of gotten in there anyway, but yea. 8 PSI(523 HP) Thats over 500 If I see correctly maybe I should forge my internals just to be safe eh? were not trying to get the least out of this machine = D

the KB wont make that 8psi, at least its very unlikely KB pumps their numbers considerably and 480 crank is 400 rwhp - thats as far as you should push it

I personally think that is smartest thing to do. You'll eventually want to turn up the boost to see what it can do. Better safe than sorry for me.

8 PSI is perfectly safe for a stock block. Most can take 10 PSI all day long for years and not have an issue. Screw forging anything until your motor grenades, then stroke it and throw the blower you already have back on.

I think that is true, but honestly how long is he going to be satisfied with that? It'll definitly make a lot of power, but eventually he's going to get beat by someone faster. That's when people want to turn up the boost but forget that they never forged the motor. That's when things go terribly wrong. If he is 100% sure that he will never go to higher boost than put on the SC and call it a day.

we'll probably call it a day for awhile i wont forget that the engine isn't forged tho lol so the 8 psi 523HP is definitely not going to blow my motor?

I would never do that to such a sweet piece of machine, but anyway should I be putting a higher octane fuel in after I install the S/C?
