how to replace a/c compressor help?

just came back from the shop and my ac compressor is bad, needs replacing....
but i dont want to pay 700 for it when i can do it for about 300 total.
i think i have a pretty good idea of how to but like everything i may encounter problems.
anyway this is my plan...

1. have the refre134a removed and later replaced at a shop...(figured kill
two birds with one stone since i cant removed my self....)
2. undo the serpent belt
3. i may have to undo the short shot intake to give me more room to work
with.
4. disconnect electrical plug and remove the bolt on the rear of
compressor (that connects the intake and condenser i believe)
5. remove the four bolt that hold it in place and pull the compressor and
replace it with one that i'll buy at autozone ($150 or 200 i think)
6. set new o-rings with fresh lub on new compressor and bolt it back on its
mount.
7. bolt rear hoses back on ( i guess i should be kind a careful here
not to bend anything)
8. connect power plug and reinstall my cold air and set the belt back
in
9. take it back to the shop and have fresh refrigerant and i should
good to go right?????

please let me know if this is a proper procedure as i am unsure, any help will be appreciated

thanks

you do need to change the receiver/drier and orfice tube the drier works like a filter and the orfice tube has a screen that stops up the orfice tube should be at 1 of the connections on the condenser the receiver is the silver canister at the firewall you do need to pull a vaccum and add an oil charge . receiver is usually around 40.00 and orfice is usually under 5.00
