SLP's installed this morning......

Pulled over this afternoon. State trooper asked me if I was riding off road. I told him no. In Maryland, we have emissions, and they don't fool around. I told him that I had some SLP loudmouths, installed this morning. He looked at me like I was crazy. Even checked for cats. I had to show him what I was talking about. Stock mid pipe and SLP are ridiculous.

It's 500.00 if you get caught running O/R. A lot of my buddies do it. I think they are crazy. But hey, O/R sounds good.

Yeah I just got my magnapacks put on the other day with O/R, but I have a Bassani X so I can bolt on my cats if I need to.

O/R means Off Road (No cats) If you get SLP LMs I hight recommend the SLP LM 2 instead of SLP LM 1. The SLP LM 1 is louder, but the SLP LM 2 has better sound quality.

Trust when I tell you your car will sound no where near stock with SLP LM 2 or magnapacks on it. This isn't the best vid in the world because the camera is in the car and the windows are rolled up half the video, but you can tell my Magnapacks sound nothing like stock.

You ran from a state trooper? Bad idea in Maryland. LOL!!! I live in Frederick county Maryland. Good luck with your SLP's. Your neighbors will hate you. LOL!!!

I think I'm going with a Bassani X pipe. I've heard nothing but good things. I also like the Magnaflow tru X pipe. That X pipe is not cheap. $667.00 plus another $175 for installation.

My friend Mark just took his Stang out for the first time since winter the other day and our cars sound completely different. We both have magnapacks with a O/R X, but I have the Bassani X and he has the Magnaflow tru-X. His sounds deeper than mine and has little to no crackling after he revs it up. Mine is louder, but has a bit of crackle to it after I rev it up a bit. I also have a K&N CAI and the Bullitt intake maniflod, but I don't know if those make that much of a difference in sound. I want to hear someone in person with Magnapacks and a O/R H pipe.

That sounds really nice!

Do you get the dreaded drone around 2k RPM or so?
I have an 03 Vert with the Magnaflow catbacks (not the Magnapacks) and it sounds great, although much tamer than yours, however I get the awful drone at 2000 RPM or so and it's driving me nuts!

Any ideas?

Yeah, I do get some drone, but it does bother me. I really like the sound of my car. If drone is a concern get a H pipe or a prochamber. It might not make it go away, but it will probably be lss than before.

Thanks..
I have a stock H-Pipe now and love the way the combination sounds, with the exception of the droning at 2k RPM.

I'm going to try the Bassani tip inserts and see if that helps.
If all else fails, I'll get a small hotdog resonator put in and that should solve the problem.

The Vert amplifies the drone much more than the coupes do from what I can tell.
