noise on right rear question

On my 94 gt I hear a real expensive noise in the right rear while backing down a sloped driveway. Only while backing up adn only after the car sits for a while, like overnight. Mainly this is heard as I am going down the driveway in reverse wether coastin g or not. Gets louder (intesne) while the brakes are applied. Am wondering if the caliper is going or just some pads. The pads seem to have wiute a bit left. Occasionally I get a click to almost a clunk while turning right at low speed. Crap.

Sounds like the brake pads may be moving around in the caliper mount. Make sure all the little anti-rattle clips are there and in good shape as well as make sure the rotors aren't grooved.

That's not good if you only hear it and know it's expensive....

?

The little clips are there and appear to be ok. The rotors show a little grooving but are still pretty smooth to the touch. I have experienced an intermittent lack of brake power. When aplication of the pedal sometimes the pressure is there by way of pedal feedback but not as much brake power to stop. I recently had a similar happening in the 01 cobra but the new rear calipers and pads seem to have fixed it. The noise on that car is getting worse but I now know it may be a weld that has broken, gotta find out soon. The gt will get all new pads shortly and I may go ahead and get a set of rear calipers just as a preventative measure. Gonna order the pads 2 d.

1. sometimes rotors and pads can get too smooth which is called glazing and they make noise that way so if the rotors are as smooth as glass that means they are glazed. if they are you might need to sand them a little.

2. you could have a warped rotor

3. you could have loose slide pins.

hopes this helps
