Door Hinges 99-04 Mustang

My drivers side door sags, and I'm out to fix it!

Latemodel restoration sells the upper and lower hinges:

1994-04 Mustang Rh/Lh Upper Door Hinge by Ford at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

1994-04 Mustang Lh/Rh Lower Door Hinge by Ford at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

They claim it's a simple bolt-on type modification.

I have changed door hinge parts on other vehicles so I am familiar with the procedure of removing/installing doors.

Is this a simple operation as latemodelrestoration's description claims? Or do the doors have to be aligned and shimmed like other body parts?

Thanks in advance,
aX

Yes they have to be aligned, etc. And since you have experience doing others, you should be fine right?

Yes. Thank you. Hinges should come in next week.

EDIT:
Upon further examination I determined that only the lower-hinge was the one exhibiting wear/slack.

Also, I found a better deal on the hinge on ebay: (14.99 vs 59.99 on latemodelrestoration): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...T#ht_500wt_998

They have a lot more available if anyone else needs to fix a saggy door.

Yesterday me and two other guys tackled my door. It took us about 30 minutes. We took the door panel off and freed up slack in the wiring harness, then placed the door on a jack, removed the bolts and scooted it about 4" away from the body---just enough to get at the hinge bolts. We lined up the new hinges as best as we could where the old ones left their mark, put everything together snug and then left one bolt on the lower hinge loose (the one you get at from the kick panel.) We set the door intentionally too high from the lower hinge and then tapped on the hinge lightly with a hammer and a steel spike until the door lined up correctly. It wasn't difficult.

TL;DR

Fixed my door for $14.99 thanks to eBay and a little elbow grease.

Thanks for the information. I will probably tackle this pretty soon now. I was going to hold off as long as I could because of the expense, but with this find, it can be done for what the top alone cost at other places.

I am about to replace my hinges today. My question is what is the procedure for getting that bolt that sticks out of the hinge to fasten into the body of the car. Everything else looks pretty straight forward.
