High mileage oil question

Does it really help a little with motors that are high mileage???

What exactly does it do for the motors. cause i saw quaker state motor oil that are for cars with 75,000+ miles on them.

does it work or is it just hype???

I think its just a gimick. My Suburban has 128,000 on it and runs like a champ. I use plain old 10w30 oil. What is it going to help? Just because a vehicle has a specific amount of miles on it doesn't mean it needs a specific oil or anything else. Mileage has nothing to do with engine wear. Abuse, weather and terrain conditions and maintenence schedule are the biggest factors. We have Suburbans at work with over 400,000 miles on the clock and they don't burn a drop of oil or make a single noise.

that oil is for cars who's piston rings are losing integrity, so unless your car is burning oil dont use that use castrol GTX for nonsynthetic it is the best, its what i use for all of my high milage cars, one thing you could do to help the car is start changing it more often though, i change mine in my oil cooled turbo car every 2000 miles for daily driving and did i mention it has the original turbo (243000 miles) in near perfect condition with no rebuild?
