Redline?

I never redline my car(so you don't think I'm an abusive owner), but I was wondering...

Are higher RPMs bad for the car... or is the redline set just below that threshold?

the powerband of modular motors like yours don't start until about 3k rpms or so and peak power is at the redline. at the track, i shift just above the redline so the next gear will fall into a higher rpm. if you hold your car at redline or above for long periods of time, that is bad for the motor, and revving more than a couple hundred rpms above redline is bad too.

its always good to have a rev limiter also. set it just a couple hundred past redline like b said so if you miss a shift it wont completely fuck up your ride.

i redline 6k with my tune and rev limiter at 6250. i nail it to 6250 and get a firm automatic shift every time and spin on the street, but it is awesome for the track.
