Exhausts help plz

Hi all,

I put in an order for MagnaFlow 3 inch Catback PN # 16674, loved the deep growl it had. What would you advise for more hp gain, H or X pipe ? and how would the overall sound come out? Can someone explain the difference between raspy and drone sound?

Thanks.

x-pipe will give you better gains

h-pipe for better sound

If you're looking at it from a strict hp standpoint, go with an x-pipe.

H pipes will give a lower/mid power output.

X pipes are geared more towards the top of the RPM scale.

Most def go X on your car IMO...

Thanks boyz....The X pipe has more of a performance sound too it. And as you said the H pipe gives of an american thunder...More of a deeper growl...I like both but i gues im gonna have to go with the X as im looking for more HP.

Cheers

What X pipe you get also makes a difference. My friend and I both have stocj headers and magnaflow magnapacks, but he has a Magnaflow tru-X and I have a Bassani X and our cars sound truly different. Mine is louder, but his is deeper. Another thing that you may also want to consider is a prochamber. Kind of like the best of both worlds. Good low end torque gains like a H pipe, but good flow and top end HP like a X pipe. Click on my sig and watch the vid on my myspace page if you want to hear my car.
