Exhaust for one. Dual cutouts for the v8, no cutouts for the v6s.

Exhaust is for the most part the best way to tell, both sound and looks.

well seeing how the '04 v6's got GT exterior mods it can make it tough...a few distinct things are

v6's...plastics in the place of fogs, wheels, high pitched exhaust, no GT badge, and no cutouts for tips

GT's...fogs, wheels, deep rumble, GT badges, exhaust cutouts, and they can leave you behind quickly

then again for a few hundred a v6 can look 100% like a GT (been there done that)

peek inside and look at the speedometer if its parked. I think the V6 only tops 110mph, not sure. And like others have said the V6 sound is not as deep as a true V8.

What's the purpose of needing to know this? Are you wanting to know so you can pick on the v6's?

It's not that the V6 had the V8 options.. It's that you can mod the shit out of your V6 to copy a v8 if you want.. (hence the name of this forum ) But from factory like they said previously first indicator to me is exhaust. But again for around $200 bucks you can have that same bumper and another $300 and you can have a nice dual exhaust. But sticking to the factory indicators would be cut outs in bumper, dual exhaust, GT badges, GT wheels, and the GT hood had the Scoop. I don't believe the GT from the factory had different side scoops than the 6. And check ebay or American Muscle for the scoops if you really want those god awful things.. lol. If you want different sides the Saleen "gills" are pretty sweet lookin
