Shaved hatch + dead battery in trunk help!

So I let my 1989 gt sit for 2 weeks and I tried to start it yesterday and I had no luck! The battery is completely dead and my battery is in the trunk, So I can't open the trunk Via the hatch release button, nor do I have any way of opening the hatch mechanically!

Any ideas on a way to open my hatch?

I had one idea, I have a large positive wire coming from the hatch to the engine bay. Could I give the car power by attatching a positive wire to the positive wire in the car and the negative to the frame?

or

I was reading somewhere else that I could hook up power from my other car into the cigarette lighter?

I can lift them up but I have a sheet metal enclosure that won't let me get access to the battery. Unless i cut in an access which is my last resort.

Gotcha. Then I am out of answers. I wouldn't try doing a ghetto jump, simply because I would be afraid to short or blow something. Metal can be re-tacked/ welded.

I saw this happen to a Porsche once, and they plugged a trickle charger up to something in the fuse panel, let it sit for a bit, then the trunk release worked.

jump it or put a charger on it. positive on the starter solenoid, negative on the shock tower bolt.

done

and a decent charger should give enough juice to run the lock solenoid pretty quick

What do you guys think about my idea of connecting a car battery to a car ac adapter and plugging it into the cigarette lighter? Basically I would clamp the charged battery to the 2 wires and i would solder in a ac adapter plug. Safe for the car? I have seen people jump cars in a similar way where they plug in a cord with 2 double ended ac adapters to each car.

just jump it on the starter solenoid. i wouldnt plug it into the cig lighter, you will probably pop the fuse pretty fast.
