Drag Radials & Road Hazard

So I'm about to buy some 275/40-17 Nitto NT555R's from my local Discount Tire. They're saying I can purchase the road hazard, and one of the employees is saying no. Regardless, they'll let me spend the extra $60 cuz I'm sure its commission to them.

My question is will the honor it later on? Has anyone bought high-performance tires from them and warrantied them before?

I would guess if they let you cover it and it says, on paper, the tires are covered, they will have to cover them.

That's what I would guess, I'm not really sure if it works that way though.
