What can switches be used for?
I have 3 switches on my center console, and am wondering, what they can be hooked up to? It would be neat to use them. Thanks.

You could pretty much hook them up to anything electronic that you can dream up. All you need is some basic wiring skills and I can assure you that it's really not hard to wire stuff if you keep your dreams pretty simple
I personally put a switch on my center console for lights in the footwells

Would I need to remove the console? Or just splice some wires? Say I want to add some led's, would I hook the lights to the button then the fusebox?

I'm not familiar with S197 interiors so I'm not sure if you have pieces that can pop off and get you access to the rear of the switches. Are the switches currently hooked up to anything? For some LEDs I would tap a power source and a good ground then run them to one of the switches. Then run the wiring from the lights to the switch. I would skip the fuse box and simply run in-line fuses (although I didn't use any in-line fuses, it is safer to use them).

Not connected to anything that I know of. I guess the only way to find out is to pop the panels out. What power sources could I tap into? How would I do that? I don't have any experience with automotive wiring. Thanks

My favorite power source is the cigar lighter/accessory port. It's really as simple as cutting a small piece of the plastic casing off of the power and ground wires and attaching new pieces of wires to them (in a T shape so that your cigar lighter still works, it just allow power to your switch). Then use some electrical tape to ensure the wires aren't exposed. I like the cigar lighter/accessory port wires because they get power even when the car is turned off so you can turn your lights on if you just run out to your car at night and need to find something on the floor.
I also highly recommend picking up a Hayne's manual for your car. They have all the wiring diagrams in the back of the book so you can just look over them and figure out which wires are power and which are ground (they generally tell the wire colors).
