Transmission problems
I have a 2002 automatic v6. The car shit the rig today driving home. I'm pretty sure it was my transmission. When i was accelerating from a complete stop my car wouldn't get out of first, i was eating up rpms trying to go a couple feet so i pulled over. it would continuously stay in first gear and not shift up. I'm hoping it will be better tomorrow and im going to take it to my mechanic. Do you guys have any advice or how much it would be for a new transmission?

Have you had the transmission serviced? The reason I ask is I had a relative with the same issue you are having , but she had a focus and had 60k and never had the trans serviced.

i just got the tranny rebuilt. it was slipping awefully and was stuck in what the tech called "safe mode". hopefully it won't give me any more issues
