DSM Turbo To Stang Help

Just curious, I have al old 1g DSM Turbo that I was gonna use on my Focus but now have an 88 stang GT. I was wondering besides the IC and stuff (Guys I just need help on the Turbo, not everything else) can I just customize the rod that spins the compressor to the belt and hook up as needed.

Like I would like to mount the turbo on the backside of the engine using custom mounts, then customise the compressor rod and extend it up to the belt (I know imma need a bigger one) and run it to my IC and the rest of that stuff. Thanks.

damn it, i saw a "v4" car last week!

and that idea (im assuming making a turbo a SC) sounds like if it were possible at all you would have major oil seal issues

I can't help you with the mechanicals, but I will say that if it's a 14B from your 1G or anything in the TD04/05 variant family, that it won't hold appreciable boost to redline since the compressor and turbine wheels in those turbos are rather small.

In comparison, I couldn't get a Big 16G to hold more than 20psi to redline on a 2.3 stroker 4 cylinder so keep that in mind.

Good luck and let us know how it goes,

Andy

that 1g wont do anything to that car, its too small. after selling my 89 rx7 i had a turbo left over and a buddy put it on his 92 gt. it was a waste of time lol. and the rx7 turbo is alot bigger than the 1g

Why don't you research, first I never said nothing about making a turbocharger out of a supercharger. (2) there are turbochargers on mustangs as well as supercharger. (3) 1g DSM is a turbocharger Like I ask duh "research" Why you think I ask dumbo. How are you going to tell someone to do research when they are DUH!!!

Anyways seeing you responded to this exteremly old post, I did get a supercharger so my "research" is done thanks.

Making a supercharge our of a turbo, where did you come up with that? That's just like the guy I saw on here who thought v8's were only four bangers on each side and they sounded like it.... Are you that guy? :lala :lala

ok make fun of me all you want I could care less, but at the same time I'm sorry for bumpin on him like that. I thought he looked at it Like I was trying to mount the thing at the top of the intake so sorry. I don't have any pictures of it yet.

I was just upset because someone's telling me to do research when I am that's not the way to approach someone when they are asking if it could work, that is research.

Anyways regardless of who is teaming up on me on this. I am asking questions before adding stuff and none are stupid, but no one has to make fun of me when I'm asking the question as I did confuse his response as something else so let's just call it even and move on. I have already gone way past this post anyways, not even worried about moddig like that.
