Question About Convertible Top Components

Does anyone know if the top latches for the 94-98 convertibles are adjustable? The one on the driver side isn't pulling the top down all the way and I didn't know if I could just adjust it somehow or if I need to replace the latch. Thanks.

It's kinda hard to say. When I close the top, the top comes down and the posts on each side seat into the frame. When I push the latch shut on the driver side, the hook that grabs the frame and pulls the top down snug doesn't pull it down all the way so the driver's side doesn't fit flush.

There is a set screw (hex head) that you need to loosen; then twist the J-hook clockwise to tighten, counterclockwise to loosen. Make sure it lines up correctly, then tighten set screw. Hope this helps.

Awesome! I saw that when I was searching around but didn't realize it adjusted the J-hook. I just thought it was there to remove/install the hook. Thanks so much! I thought I was gonna have to come up with $150 for a new friggin latch! Hopefully this will fix it!
