Laundry detergent in motor!!!!!!

i need a help on a non mustang situation i got. okay a cousin of mine has a audi a4 i think its a 1999, somebody put laundry detergent in the motor oil. the car was ran for a couple miles according to her. ive never heard of this happening so i don't know how to approach the problem. first thing i plan on doing is changing the oil, run it for a few miles and change oil again.

if anybody has any input or advice i really appreciate it. how bad would this mess up the engine. they poured detergent through the oil fill cap. thanks

laundry detergent in the motor. How did this happen.
Ya your best bet would be run the motor and change the oil a few times to clear out the detergent.

Seafoam/oil change? If you do end up doing that, I would buy 2 extra quarts of oil and with the drain plug out just put the 2 extra quarts through the motor.

Im in to hear how she found out...

Pressure clean? They do that for neither... They circulate fluid through a transmission hence it being called a flush.

I would use Marvel Mystery oil.... And how would this damage a oil pump? Its 2 gears that mesh, its not like they put sand in the engine.

Sadly laundry detergent is an emulsifier, and will chemically break down the oil. The engine will be damaged if you run it with the detergent in it. Again how did she find out and did the engine shut off on its own or by her?
