o2 sensor

So im throeing a check engine light and i havnt had a chance to hook my car up to a scanner yet but the cats are hollow and im pretty sure that its just an o2 sensor. My cars is running extremely rich and i think since that code is showing up its just dumping a lot of gas because my gas mileage is terrible, my idle is rough, and it back fires. Could this cause a huge loss in horsepower because it seems like it is suffocating for air. Its an 03 gt with a saleen series 4 blower on it and it hardly winds and seems its not up to par because of this problem, well thats atleast what i think. any comments on what u guys think or suggest would be appreciated.

i guess im not one for supercharger knowledge but i run catless and i had code problems untill i got tuned. have you tuned for the charger? and running rich could be worse than just a code running to rich for to long can "wash" out the cylinder walls leading to less lubricating ect ect. but having open cats could very well just be yelling high flow

Check out your upstream o2 sensors they may be in need of replacement. When was the last time you had a tune? Sounds dangerous to be driving if your running extremley rich, or lean.

+1. Ya buddy be CAREFUL with that rich issue. Just go down to autozone or pep boys they can scan your car for free and they will tell you exactly what you need to get rid of the code. Prolly upstream 02 they love to go out and say fuck you when you mess with the stock exhaust. Good luck bud!!
