The only two K-Members you should even consider and AJE & Maximum Motorsports. All the others are not even close to those two..

agree. these 2 have great quality standards. dont only focus on saving weight. you need to look at material the most.

I guess most people are victims of what they are comfortable with. UPR is all I have ever used and they have been straight bolt up. Now they offer a new model for additional header clearance and they are chromoly. So you do get the added advantage of a little weight loss also. Personally they are the only K-member I have used and I have always been happy, and the support from those guy's is outstanding.

I've got the QA1! For what it cost you can't go wrong! The addition of the spring perches to allow for the stock A-arm and spring set up is also a bonus!

Just keep this in mind... the K-member will widen your stance considerably! So if your running a wide front wheel... expect it to stick out past the fender! Looks quite mean if you ask me! I'll have pics of this soon!

Also... I just recently added the Roush Stage 3 suspension to my 04... most Roush's with this same suspension do not sit as low as mine does... and everything I've done is matched to a Real Roush... so I believe that this K-member also changes the ride height just a bit!

I'll have pictures of this also as soon as the site will let me post!

Its a good K-member... I'd recommend it to anyone!

Cheers

I have not had experience with QA1 but 2 friends of mine have QA1 units on their car and both of them are gonna change them out for AJE units. My 1 friend has 2 cracks in his and he dont even race his car and the other says the car never felt the same since he got it and the alignment is not right. We even tried to loosen all the mounting bolts while it was on the alignment lift and tried to align it that way. You say you would recommend it to anybody and you have not even used it yet. . You also said for the price you cant go wrong. What does that mean? When it comes to a major part of your car like a front end price in my mind is not an issue. Although I did get a great price on my AJE unit. I bought it at Englishtown Raceway at the AJE vendor booth. I got my K-Member, control arms and coil-over kit with springs for just under 700 bucks. Anyway some of the reasons AJE is the best piece on the market is because the control arms bolt on through the K-Member and not to cheesy little tabs like all the others do. Now for the average car with mild mods that drives on mostly smooth roads the other units are prob just fine. But the AJE design makes for a unit that is so much more rigid than all the others not to mention all the suspension engineering experience that Anthony Jones has. If you drive on rough roads and especially if your car has the balls to pull the front wheels at the track and mine does on a good day on motor and for sure will prob all the time when I put on my nitrous kit you will be happy that your control arms are bolted through the entire unit and not bolted to little tabs that are welded to the k-Member. Another thought I dont understand why you would go through all the trouble to replace your front end and still use the stock control arms.

Do yourself a favor... before assuming anything.. and jumping to conclusions... try actually reading what was said!

Where in my post did I ever mention I've not used the k-member? Just where? Give me a break!

Since its seems ok to assume, i'll jump right it... my thoughts would be your friends are too hard on their cars.... misuse is not a good justification for disliking a product!

Second... if your not happy with a performance addition, because things just are not the same as stock.. why go to the trouble? Alignment can be a very tricky thing.. especially on a car when little adjustment is offered! You go slamming it, changing out the entire engine cradle, move the suspension geometry to different angles... you should expect some issues!

Third.. well I'm not even going to comment about the "for the price, you can't go wrong" statement! Its not worth my time! What I choose to do is soley up to me! The $ value on a product does not constitute its integrity! 9 times out of 10 a products price is more for the NAME that comes with it

perhaps the huge gap in years! I'm not an expert though!

No its not that they are to hard on their cars its because the control arm are mounted to shitty little tabs. Do yourself a favor and look into the AJE unit. Although I am assuming you already bought the other one. Also you dont have to try and school me on alignment principals because I used to do alignments all day long.. It has to do with the fit and finish of a product and when they weld it together the tubes draw in closer. Causing it not to fit correctly. AJE checks for fit after welding to make sure those types of problems do not happen..

I'm not sure how much more clear I can be... so I'll just come right out and say it... the QA1 has been on my car for nearly a Year! And in perfect running condition!

As curiosity would have it... I'll certianly check out the to other make!

and no worries... I did not intend on "Schooling" anyone!

Cheers

Houston, we have a problem

I have a granatelli k-member with matching control arms. I'm having a problem with the front tires rubbing on the insides of the fender well. I'm no genious, but my first thought was that the k-member was too far forward, but its sitting back as far as it can go. I have 16" rims with rather oversized tires, cant think of the exact size right now. I would think that if I got some lower profile tires, it might fix the issue, but I just want to make sure that there isnt something I'm overlooking.

That K-Member is not sitting right or the car itself is tweeked. Those tires should not rub at all..

How about a picture of the control arms where they mount to the K-member. Something definitely isn't right.
