Heating/Cooling blower speeds

Can you no longer choose different fan speeds when using your air conditioning or heat? Do only some or one of the speeds work? The blower motor resistor is a common failure in our Mustangs. Replace it quickly and easily. Purchase a new blower motor resistor from your local auto parts store for around $25. The reason I am posting this is because I see this topic arise all the time, and no one ever gives the right answer.

Install:

(99-04)Look under the dash on the passenger side and you'll see the blower motor, right near the hinge for the glove box there is the resistor, 2 bolts hold it in, unplug it and unbolt it and swap it out. Cannot miss it. Looks identical to your replacement.

Is this the same on a 2005? I have this problem. I recently had my car in the shop for a different reason, and I don't trust the guy. I had to take it to him once, and I won't be back, but he said my blower motor was dead, and I needed a new one entirely and it would cost like $300. Could it just be the resistor? and he either didn't know or was trying to screw me

Does it work on any speeds? I'm not sure if it would be a solution to your problem.

I mean if you wanted to try it, its not that expensive. I do not guarantee any results though.
