Roush Suspension
Okay.. I know next to nothing about suspension.. well I found a "full roush suspension package" for my car and was wondering if anyone had ever heard any good from this installation.. whether or not its like the real roush handling, how much it lowers, etc.. it didnt really give much description where i found it.. i know a while back someone told me that getting the bullitt or mach suspension and some springs that would lower more than those packages that my car would be amazing at handling.. suggestions?

Ummm.... IMO, buying a tuner/manufacturer brand, such as Roush or Steeda, you are paying more for the name. Not discrediting either company, they make great products, just an example, but there are others out there that make better for less.
The benefit to getting a package like the one you are eyeing is, especially when suspension is the item, the tuner will have dampers matched to the springs. By that, when you lower(or raise) a vehicle, the dampers need to be shortened(or lengthened) to maintain proper rate. Finding a place that is local and can order you a set of correct length damper without a lot of fanfare is gonna be tough, but not impossible. Again, the tuner does this for you. They also make you pay for doing the same thing you can do on your own with a phone call. How much does the Roush kit cost? What does it include? Whats the warranty? Eibach has complete suspension set-ups too. Springs, matched dampers, sway-bars, new bushings etc. IMO; Eibach Pro-kit springs, matched KYB AGX dampers. Maybe, just maybe Energy Suspension bushings and a rear sway-bar... Call KYB, tell them what you have in mind, give them the stock height and the new height of the car with the springs and they will help you find a matched damper. They did it for me with my '03 Eclipse. *cliffnotes* damper: shock/strut matched damper: damper that is shortened or lenghtened to the new height of a given vehicle tuner: company with expertise surrounding a given product Bro, I LOVE chassis work. I've swapped the entire suspension on 2 of my 5 cars, just outta boredom and help a buddy here with a perf shop doin' lifts and drops on trucks. I will rattle on and on about that stuff all day long. If ya got any questions, gimme a PM. More than happy to help ya bro.

Seems kinda pricey for whats in it.
Here's just one example of whats out there: http://www.livermoreperformance.com/...on.html#Eibach Under the Pro-System-Plus, 4th line down: Mustang Coupe, V8-4.6 & 5.0 (Exc. IRS & Convertible) SN95 94 - 04 1.5 drop F/R for $965..... That site has a ton of other options and information that you should read up on. Also, hit up Brothers Performance @ www.brothersperformance.com (800) 486-2681 or UPR @ http://www.uprproducts.com/ (561) 588-6630 and lastly http://www.agentfortyseven.com/home.html (760)496-3809 Good luck bro. Lemme know what ya find...

No problem bro... Hope I didn't overwhelm ya lol. There's a ton more out there. Thats just a few I knew off the top of my noodle.
Go to www.tirerack.com at work or in class or whenever. That site has tons of good info about chassis tuning. Also, and don't laugh, this rag is really good, Sport Compact Car. Dave Coleman is my suspension tuning hero. The web address is www.sportcompactcarweb.com

I got my Steeda setup for less than that Roush package, and that was Springs, adjustable shocks/struts, front and rear sway bars, c/c plates, upper control arms and full length subframe connectors. Call Steeda, if your ready to drop the cash they will help you out with a package deal. They saved me like $400.

have you looked at steeda? their g-trac suspension packs give you a lot of bang for your buck. they have 4 different stages they include the following:
Stage 1- -Sport Springs - lower the center of gravity and reduce body roll while maintaining good ride quality -Strut Tower and G-Trac braces - stiffen the body structure, to stabilize the suspension during hard cornering and reduce body shake and rattles. Steeda G-Trac bars are included with 86-93 cars. 94+ have factory G-Trac style bars. -Caster Camber Plates - set proper alignment and improve caster geometry while eliminating suspension “slop” at the top of the strut tower. Stage 2- -Tokico shocks give outstanding control of wheel motion, increasing cornering grip and improving ride quality. Five adjustment positions allow tuning of understeer and oversteer, as well as ride comfort. -Heavy Duty Reinforced Upper Rear control arms with improved bushings improve traction, stability, and are especially good at getting rid of unwanted "wiggle" and side to side travel in the rear end. -Our exclusive Adjustable Rear Swaybar keeps the car flat during corners, eliminates understeer, and increases maximum cornering speed. It's easy to adjust, so you can tune the bar to match your driving style. And if you add more suspension modifications later, all it takes is a simple adjustment of the rear bar to re-tune the suspension for a well balanced car. Stage 3: -Aluminum Lower Control Arms reduce unsprung weight and dramatically improve traction and control while maintaining a smooth, quiet ride. -Lightweight, high strength, Tubular Front Swaybar reduces body roll for flatter, more stable, and faster cornering. -Our exclusive Offset Front A-Arm bushings push the control arms forward to improve weight distribution and steering response. Bushings are formed from special urethane compounds for ride quality superior to typical urethane or Delron. -4130 Chrome-Moly Alloy Subframe Connectors reduce body twist and improve handling by strengthening the structure which supports the suspension. These connectors prevent fatigue from shortening the life of your car. Stage 4- -Ball Joint corrects front roll center on lowered vehicles -Bump Steer Kit improves alignment through compression and rebound -Billet Front Sway Bar Mounts eliminate sway bar mount deflection, making sway bar more effective. Stg 1-$509.95 Stg 2-$719.00 Stg 3-$649.95 Stg 4-$405.00 stage 1-3 would give you everything to make an outstanding handling car. the only thing i would add is the bumpsteer kit. w/o the bumpsteer the total is $1,877.95. for $314.65 more than the roush kit you get 6 more items to improve your car's handling. these kits are expensive but each kit is designed to improve opon the one before it. it is not by any means required that you purchase them all at once. but if you were looking at the roush kit for $1500 you can probably afford the $1800 steeda which will produce much better results and in the long run you will be happier with the performance of the car. |

I've got the Roush S3 Suspension on my 40th... couldn't be happier!
Take some getting used to though! A little stiffer than I'd imagined... but handles like a dream around the corners when you open it up! Good luck... there are many fantastic ways to go! Cheers Nem

Check out Ford's package. IMO the cost isn't bad plus you get the strut brace included where wih the Eibach you don't and I have heard it's made by Steeda.
