Headers..Do or Don't that is the question

I have a 2003 Mach1, I was about to put on Headers however I heard that they have at times come loose and need to have the bolts re-tighten. Considering that it's a B---h to put them on I don't want to think want a B---h it will be to re-tighten them if this is true. Could someone give me a good insight. Thanks.....

i have had 1 set of shorty's, 2 sets of mid length's and 1 set of long tubes...i have never had to go back over the bolts. installing them the right way the first time is the biggest step....

Exactly. It is not worth it to get anything other than long tube headers, and I tightened mine at install and let them be. No leaks. More power.

I just installed Hooker long tubes on my Mach. The install was time consuming and frustrating at times due to the limited workspace. However, it is very doable install for your average wrench turner. I am still dealing with an exhaust leak around the collector/x pipe connection which I will get correct this week with some better clamps. I would not mess with the shorties.

Or slap a light coat of lock-tite on the bolts before you wrench them.
