Vinyl under hood?

I have been tinkering with the idea of putting something on the blank underside of my cervini's r hood. I was wanting to do a pony or ford logo or something in black vinyl. My question is, will the heat just cook the vinyl or has anyone done this successfully?

I thought about sticking one of the reject MM stickers under there and seeing if it cooks.

i would assume the heat from the motor would melt it off, but hell, stick one on and see what happens

Are you set on it being a vinyl? This wouldn't happen to be that surprise you were talking about in the sticker thread is it?

Reason I asked though is because there was a ebay seller a while back that took made custom designs on the same material that Ford used for the underhood padding stuff. You might be able to have one custom made and those wouldn't melt off
