tokico and lowering

i just bought tokico lowering springs and hp struts and shocks. when itook out the stock rears and put them up against the new tokicos, they were the same. but the tokicos are supposed to lower the car 1.5". also if i take out the spring isolators will it go lower or should i leave them in. i was thinking of just shaving the isloaters down. would that be ok?

Ehhh.... Leave the isolators alone. They help with bottoming out. I learned my lesson about cutting those with my Eclipse. Every decent sized bump and I got a "clunk" outta the front struts. Beat the Hell outta the bearing plates.

the springs have a different spring rate at the ends and will allow the car to lower once the car is back on the ground. they may seem the same when out the car but there is a big difference.

isolators dont help with bottoming out. they help with noise, harshness, and vibrations. they isolate the noise so u dont hear it and feal it. bottoming out is from the shocks and struts being to long or failing.

Right right... I meant the upper portion on the strut/spring isolator, where the bearing plate resides, on my Eclipse kept poppin' after I shaved 'em off. Granted, what happened to me was on a totally different vehicle structure. So it may or may not hold true for him. Just my experience

Thanks for the correction, matrix :award
