E-brake handle assembly question

I searched the forums and I didn't see anything that could answer my question (I don't want to post something that was previously done). I have a 85 GT and when I purchased the vehicle it did not have an E-brake handle assembly in it. I want to put one back, but I could only find one that fits a 87-93 according to the listing I saw on Ebay. Can anyone tell me if there is a difference and if so what the difference is between the 85 set up as opposed to the 87? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Jeff
