Oil....

Just curious what you all recommend for oil & filter.

Right now it's some new brand of synthetic that lets me run 7500 miles / 6month before another oil change is needed.

But I'd rather either A) Do it myself, or B) Take it to somewhere like Pep Boys

castrol syntech is a good oil. I run 0w30 since it specifically meets all standards and is more trackable then the other oils synthetics like mobil.

Well I was really debating on Mobile 1 & Castroll Syn.

I checked out Royal Purple, and for now it's just too expensive for me.

My car takes 10w/30, do I get the same for Syn or should I get something different??

As for the oil filter - fram high flow filter or k&n, is there really a big difference?

Run the RP 15K and use a K&N change the fliter at about 7.5k. you will save the money in gas to make up for the cost of the RP

i use the castrol syntec 10w30 and a K&N oil filter ftw. its nice to use a K&N if you do your own oil cuz the filter has a nut welded to the top, so you can unscrew it with a ratchet really easily.
