I think more than 90% of the people on this board have thought what you are thinking right now at one point in time. Just take it one at a time and you get through it and get some experience with it.

Just remember that you get a lot of experience if shit breaks when you are working on it.

At least it will look pretty while you are looking at it, wondering what is wrong.

Ya don't give up, I just got mine 3 months ago and already found problems. I'm not going to give up on this car. On mine, some guy said that the computer was reading that my Gas sensor was going off, saying it wasn't tight enough... even tho I give it a good 2 or 3 rotations after I hit the click. Also said it might be the exhaust system, getting too hot or whatever bs they said.

I have felt like giving up on my car evertime something broke. From a bad seal between my intake manifolds to a broken tranny and dead battery and alternator on a rainy day away from home. Fixing the broken is what makes it personal, and that makes it all the more enjoyable. Hell, with me being 17 and having all of this money in my car, I just pray that nothing breaks because if it is too big, I can't afford to fix it... Hang in there and take it piece by piece.

Scan your OBDII codes and post them up.
You EGR thing could be something very simple.
Did you get O2 sensor extending harness and MIL Eliminators when you installed the longtubes?

I bet all of your troubles are all tied into the exhaust setup you put on. If you didn't go over all of the head bolts, EGR connections, a retighten the mid pipe and cat back bolts, then chances are you will have a million leaks that make an annoying "ticking" sound when you accelerate. Just tell us what is wrong and piece by piece, we will guide you into enjoying your car again.

well right now when i idle i hear the tick, yea it pisses me off, im constantly repostioning and tightening the bolts to try to make a new seal... doesn't work, and when i drive about 25-30 mph at constant my shifter shakes side to side violently and seems like the engine wants to cut out or something so i have to tap the gas to stop this from happening... people said its the dpfe but like i said in the other one why should i spend another 100 on this and its a hit or miss, everytime i turn right or left my steering makes a noise. like my bushings or something are going bad or power steering is going out, it even makes it when im sitting still and move the wheel right or left, and basically my rear driver side strut or shock what ever it is, is going bad becuase when i am at my friends in his driveway it looks lowered and the other side still has plenty of room

I NEED HELP

Well, make sure your gaskets are good and seals are good on the exhaust. If the shifter problem continues and the car slugs out, consider getting a new tune for the ecu. Replacing the rear shock is very easy and cheap:

Good luck man. Keep us posted.

Here is my opinion for what it is worth. Modifying any car, be it a Mustang, Camaro, etc. can and will always be a learning experience, but there is always someone out there that has been there and done that that can assist with the problems. With most problems of this nature, especially with the newer cars (ones with computer controlled powertrains/drivetrains), as you modify, you mre than likely will need to tune the ECU/ECM/PCM to ensure the modifications are operating optimally. If you replaced the part according to what was coded on the reader, you may have to program/tune to make sure you are operating optimally. As far as the noise when you are steering even at a standstill, what kind of noise is it? If it is whining while under normal driving conditions, then it is a good indicator that the pump is starting to go or ti is low on fluid, but it will still continue to function for some time. If you check the reservoir, ensure you have adequate fluid and you can take a magnet inside to see if there are any metal deposits in the fluid. Other than that, I can't really offer any other advice on the issue of the noisy steering without further information. I will agree that your shock is shot from what you have described, but it is rather easy to change, however, I would change both at the same time so that you won't be repeating the process on the other side later on which would only lead you to be more frustrated when the other one goes. One other thing that you will have to remember is that all things mechanical will eventually wear down and break thus it is a constant process of break and repair. Whatever you do, I wouldn't give up just because of a little frustration.

With any car you need to just look at it as any mechanical machine shit breaks and needs to be repaired but the better you maintain it the less. I have to get a whole new wiring harness for my daily driver (not a mustang btw) and they dont make it but my wiring harness was butchered by the previous owner, he couldnt get the head light switch to stay in so he cut the harness and wired in two toggle switches that just hung under the dash board. and somehow he had the cruise control wire wired in with the headlight harness wiring so i dont have cruise control, i dont have a horn (has a aftermarket horn button under the dashboard to pass inspection) and the cornering lights that are supposed to come on to illuminate around turns when the parking light or head lights are on dosent work.

But after I repaired what I could things been fine, need brakes now including rotors since these are paper thin lol. And when i plan to rebuilt the engine Ill have to spend extra money if i havent replaced the wiring before then.
