E brakes...whats the deal?

All the older cars I've owned have had functioning E brakes....if you set it, it would hold your car parked....and if ya wanted, you could snatch it and slide the rear around a bit.

The 06 doenst seem to like the Ebrake much...never snatched it on her, but if I park it on a hill, it wont hold her in place unless i pull the stick completely vertical. (I park it in 1st for saftey, anyway)

Is this something wrong with my car? Is this typical of 4 wheel disc cars?
Whats going on here? If the parking brake doesnt work, why have it?

Just wanted to mention...
My 2000 GT does the same thing. The handbrake isn't that strong, needs to be pulled all the way to stay on a steep driveway.

If I yank on it at any speed, it just slows down a bit. I always thought this was normal on Mustangs.

mine will lock em up if you pull on it while driving and have never had it try to roll on a steep hill when it was on. i always leave the car in gear just in case!!!
