traction difference between 96-98 & 99-04

a friend of mine had a 98 mustang gt with a few mods and 3.73's. he traded the car for a 97 cobra and i did a couple things on it. both of his mustangs just flat hook, i dont get it. both are lowered sitting on nitto 555's, with no other kind of suspension or chasis mod. i spin bad in my car, my car dont even know what it means to make second gear useful. i have upper and lower control arms, subframe connectors, and have had a few different gear combo's in the car to try and aid this. what makes them so much better?

i couldnt even come colse to hooking as good as his cobra when i was stock. both of his cars actually lifts up in the ass when you start mashing on it. we took his cobra out after i lowered it and he told me to hit it from a dig, i dumped it around 4500 and it just hurt my neck. i tried again at 5k with the same results. power shifted to second without a chirp, and into third without a chirp.

gearing also makes a difference as well as drive shaft he have a different drive shaft. it all is how the torque is transfered to the ground he could have stiffer control arm bushings or yours r shot. the lowing helps lower center of gravity.

i have ran the nitto 555, bfg g-force, bfg comp t/a, khumo 711, and khumo 712. the nittos were the best but still cant compare to his car with the same tire, the only difference is he is on 18's and i am on 17's. i have ran 3.27's, 3.55's, and 4.10's; he has the stock gears in his cobra and had 3.73's in his gt.

thats what i thought first couple times i drove it, but its not. it is by far the hardest hooking mustang i have ever been around. i never got into one that would take a 4500 rpm dump and not spin. i will see if i can get a clip of it soon, and show how hard it hooks.
