so basically you can cruise around with whatever exhaust you want, but at the push of a button you get the exact same sound as open headers?

they go in line with your regular exhaust sometime after the headers and allow the exhuast to flow through normally. there is like a dump to the side that you open up which allows the exhuast to escape quicker and without traveling through the system. that makes i kinda like open headers which is when all you run is headers, like you see on drag cars. so when your driving normally you can have it closed so the exhaust travels through the whole system and then when you want to race you open them up unleashing mucho power and noise. they have them where there is a cover you have to take off or nowadays they have electric ones, flick a switch, they open up and your ready to go.

lmao yeah.. i know its rare for me to ask questins but whenever something pops in my mind i ask questions

but yeah, my dad went into more detail about it to me and he said its not near as loud as open headers, which is what turned me on, the fact that you can get the same sound as open headers at the flip of a switch.. he then went on to say that we have a 1964 1/2 mustang that has electric cutouts that i never knew had them
